Following a two-week international break, the Glamour Boys return to league action on Saturday, 1 April 2023, against Stellenbosch FC.

BRANDON PETERSEN REVEALS KAIZER CHIEFS’ MAIN OBJECTIVE

The talented shot-stopper has since revealed what Chiefs are aiming to achieve in their last seven remaining games.

And Petersen believes that Amakhosi’s recent run of victories serves as motivation to be in contention to qualify for CAF interclub competition next campaign.

“We obviously want to finish as high up as possible,” the goal-minder told Chiefs’ media department.

“The CAF spot is still available, so I think that’s our main aim now.

“As much as we are taking one game at a time, one eye is always on the prize. That second spot. So, we are going into every game like it’s a cup final for us.

“We want maximum points because we want to play CAF football next season.”

HOW FIFA BREAK BENEFITED CHIEFS PLAYERS

The 28-year-old goalie, who has managed to keep nine clean sheets in 14 appearances across all competitions for Chiefs this term, insists that the FIFA break has offered them time to recharge and return to training refreshed and eager to go for the kill.

“A break is always good. The team had momentum before we went into the break. We got three wins, so it’s good to recharge the batteries a bit,” he added.

“We had the weekend off to fully rest and recover and spend time with the family. And this week, we started on a high note. and we’re looking forward to this weekend’s game.

“I think the guys are ready. Everyone is pumped up and excited. You know footballers can’t stay without football for long.

As things stand, Chiefs are placed fourth on the log standings with 37 points, just two points behind second-placed SuperSport United.
