Musa Nyatama opens up on working with Morgan Mammila

Swallows FC interim coach Musa Nyatama has opened up on working with the club’s newly-appointed Technical Advisor, Morgan Mammila.

The two have been assigned the task to save the club from relegation. Mammila recently joined the Dube Birds after parting company with Chippa United where he made himself a name as a coach.

He took over the head coach position at the Chilli Boys after the sacking of Daine Klate. He set the new club’s record, becoming the first coach to win four consecutive top-flight games.

However, after that, things began to take a downturn, with the club failing to win in seven games.

Now, at Swallows, Mammila sits alongside Nyatama on the dugout, something that isn’t often done by Technical Advisors/Directors.

Nyatama says the “helpful” Mammila has a good understanding of the game.

MUSA NYATAMA SPEAKS HIGHLY OF MORGAN MAMMILA

“A very interesting guy, I was with him in the coaching course,” he said in response to FARPost.

“He’s someone that knows football, and the relationship between him and me is very good.

“And also, we’re helping each other. If I can’t see something [he helps].

“The first sub of Darrel [Matsheke]. He’s the one who came to me and said let’s in Darrel and play with one striker.

“So, he’s someone who’s helpful.”

On Saturday, Swallows got the better of AmaZulu in a DStv Premiership match at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The in-form Kagiso Malinga scored the only goal of the match to inspire his side to their seventh win this season.

Ahead of them, there is a tough task against Mamelodi Sundowns, who have already won the league with seven games to spare.

The match will take place on Sunday, 09 April, at 3:00 pm at the Dobsonville Stadium.

Swallows currently occupy the 13th place on the log standings, having collected 27 points in 24 games.
