PSL coach placed on special unpaid leave

A PSL coach has been placed on a special unpaid leave with a few matches remaining before the end of the 2022/23 season.

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka are the latest to reshuffle their technical team setup.

It comes only a few weeks after the club had initially appointed Stanford Nkoane and Bushy Moloi as co-coaches.

News reaching FARPost is that there has been a fallout between Moloi and the Baroka management, which has led to him being placed on leave. Moloi was initially the head coach at the beginning of the season.

Prior to his being placed on unpaid leave, in simpler terms, being fired, he was given the role of a football manager.

PSL CLUB CONFIRMS PLACING COACH ON SPECIAL UNPAID LEAVE

“We have placed coach Bushy on leave for the time being, and coach Nkoane will be in charge,” confirmed club CEO Richard Mashabane.

“So coach Nkoane will continue with the remaining games of the season, then we will take it from there.”

ON THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE CLUB AND MOLOI

“There are no issues between the coach and us. The issue was that the team was not collecting points, and we had to make some changes.

“Coach Nkoane has been doing very well and has a good relationship with players. So we thought, why not take coach Bushy to be a football manager to focus on our SAB and LFA teams.”

Baroka looks set to save their Motsepe Foundation Championship status after poor results recently that caused panic. They won 1-0 against Limpopo rivals at the Baroka Village on Sunday.

They are now at position 11 with 29 points, 11 points above Black Leopards, who are bottom of the log.

Their next match is away to Platinum City Rovers, and a win will certainly secure safety for the Limpopo side.
