SUPERSPORT UNITED ANNOUNCE NEW SIGNING FOR 2023/24 SEASON
“SuperSport United FC would like to confirm the signature of Zimbabwean international defender Ronald Pfumbidzai on a pre-contract from Chippa United FC,” the club announced via statement.
“Pfumbidzai has played 16 times this season (2022/23) for Chippa United, scoring four goals and has represented Zimbabwe in all youth levels including the national team.
“The 28-year old will join his new teammates from 1 July 2023 and has signed a two-year-deal with an option.”
Pfumbidzai’s main position is left-back but he will give Hunt more options at the back as he can also play as a centre-back.
He will compete with his homie Onismor Bhasera who’s also the captain of the club. The other left-back that SuperSport has is Neo Rapoo who comes from the club’s academy.
Pfumbidzai could be used to fill the void that will be left by Thatayaone Ditlhokwe who’ll leave the club at the end of the season.
The Botswana-international also signed a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs and will join them in July.
Meanwhile, SuperSport are also said to be keeping a close eye on Mamelodi Sundowns’ defender Mosa Lebusa.
However, the Swanky Boys would have to pay a large amount of money since Lebusa’s contract expires in 2025.
