The key element that Kaizer Chiefs strikers are working on

Kaizer Chiefs forward Ashley Du Preez has revealed the key element the team’s strikers are working on ahead of the remaining six matches.

The Kaizer Chiefs strikers have had to bear the brunt of criticism as the Soweto giants struggle to end their league title drought.

This season’s title is already gone and Chiefs have been left to fight for second position in the PSL.

And Ashley Du Preez is disappointed by how they have fared. At the moment Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is the club’s leading goal-scorer with eight goals to his name.

“We have been creating chances and I think as individuals, we want to create chances and learn out of it.

“If we create chances but then fail to score, I think that’s where we need to work on, to sharpen our finishing.

“Personally, I love creating chances, I learn from it but still, we need to work on converting.

“We are a brand new team, with a few players coming into the squad like myself. I think we should play to our strengths and convert.

“I’m not happy, I think we can do better. We need to find our fit. We need to convert those chances. If we converted, it would have been different. We could have gained alot,” he said.

While Kaizer Chiefs aim a strong finish, Ashley Du Preez is also racing to reach the ten-goal mark.

“The last six games must be won. We have to win them. We need to take one game at a time. I have not achieved my goal yet as a player.

“I want to score ten goals. Right now, I have 7 goals in all competitions, four goals in the league. This means, I have to score in every match in order to reach my target,” he added.

Amakhosi date troubled Marumo Gallants on Saturday, in a match they are targeting nothing less than maximum points.
