Bafana Bafana star could realise EPL dream on Good Friday

A Bafana Bafana star could realise his English Premier League [EPL] dream on Good Friday.

Lyle Foster has made it no secret that he grew up following the EPL and yearning to play there. And now, his Burnley FC are on the verge of being promoted to the topflight.

Foster joined the English Championship side in January from Belgian side KVC Westerlo. Since his arrival, the 22-year-old made 11 appearances, both in the league and in the FA Cup.

The former Orlando Pirates development alumni has had a slow start to his English football career, with him only recording one goal and one assist in all competitions.

However, despite that, he is close to living his Premier League dream. Burnley are close to earning promotion back to the Premier League after spending just a season in the Championship.

WHEN COULD BURNLEY EARN PROMOTION TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE

The Clarets currently top the league table with just 11 points. They could earn an automatic promotion back to the Premier League on Good Friday – Friday, 07 April.

But they will have to rely on Luton Town to beat Millwall in an early kickoff on Friday [both teams are in the run for promotional playoffs].

And they will have to finish their job against Middlesbrough and collect all three points later on in the day.

WHAT THE PROMOTION MEANS FOR THE BAFANA FORWARD

Foster is on a four-and-a-half-year deal with Burnley. If both parties choose to continue to hold both ends of the deal, Foster will become the first player since Percy Tau to feature in the Premier League.

Not only that, but he will also join the likes of Benni McCarthy, Lucas Radebe, Steven Pienaar and Quinton Fortunes, as South Africans who represented the country in the Premier League.

However, the Bafana forward will look to make his own history in of the league that is said to be the best in the world.

Foster’s side will take on Middlesbrough on Friday, 07 April, at 21:00.
