Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 0-0 draw by the relegation-threatened Swallows FC on Sunday afternoon in the DStv Premiership.
Bafana Ba Style played their back-to-back draw after dropping points against Cape Town City on Tuesday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Sundowns travelled to Dobsonville Stadium to face Swallows, who were desperate for maximum points. The Birds are desperate to move away from the relegation zone.
Rulani Mokwena and his charges have secured their sixth league title in a row, with five matches to spare.
The Tshwane-based side have won 19 games, drawing four and losing only two times after 25 games played.
SWALLOWS NEARLY PUNISHED MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
Swallows sought for a quick opening goal when Tshediso Patjie unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box. However, it was kept out by Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
The match reached 30 minutes mark in the first half with limited chances created, and the score remained 0-0.
Sundowns dominated most of the ball position, but they were let down by too many misplaced passes in the final third.
The referee Jelly Chavani blew the half-time whistle with both sides failing to get a breakthrough and going to the break deadlocked at 0-0.
Masandawana got the second half underway looking to impose their superiority and find the first goal of the match, but Swallows stood firm at the back.
The Brazilians made an offensive substitution in the 56th minute and brought in Abubeker Nasir in place of Sphelele Mkhulise.
Sundowns talisman Peter Shalulile came close to breaking the deadlock after trying an acrobatic bicycle kick in the box, but his effort went straight into the hands of Swallows goalie Daniel Akpeyi.
The match ended 0-0 as Sundowns couldn’t collect maximum points for the second time in a row.
Elsewhere, Royal AM returned to winning ways after beating Stellenbosch 3-1 at Chatsworth Stadium.
Elias Pelembe, Mthokozisi Dube and Shaun Mogaila scored for Royal AM, whereas Junior Mendieta scored for Stellies.
