Vusi Vilakazi on what Sundowns and Golden Arrows have in common

Golden Arrows head coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi has pointed out what his side and Mamelodi Sundowns have in common.

‘Kanu’, as he’s widely known, was speaking after their DStv Premiership match against Richards Bay FC on Saturday.

He likened Abafana Bes’thende to Bafana Ba Style in being a possession-based team.

He said this when he was asked how they were going to approach their match against the Tshwane giants.

VILAKAZI ON WHAT’S COMMON BETWEEN MAMELODI SUNDOWNS AND ARROWS

“It’s gonna be a different ball game altogether for obvious reasons because it’ll be two teams who are football-based possession,” Vilakazi told the journalists.

“It’ll be an interesting game but as I’m saying we need to be consistent in order to make sure that we don’t lose the game.

“So we’ll be going to Sundowns game, obviously, we need to improve form on today’s game [against Richards Bay] at there and there.

“See where we were lacking today in order to be victorious on the day. It’s still possible to beat Mamelodi Sundowns.

“We have been doing well when playing against them. We just need to make sure that we work very hard on the day.”

Arrows picked up a 1-0 victory over the struggling side of Natal Rich Boyz. This was their second win in their previous three games.

Vilakazi says their main focus is on being consistent rather than targeting a certain position on the table.

‘WE NEED TO BE CONSISTENT’

“I think our focus, for now, is specifically on us being consistent in our games,” he added.

“I’m happy that in [our] previous three games, we didn’t lose. We’ve managed a win, a draw and a win today.

“So we need to be consistent more. I think if we focus on each game that comes, we will find ourselves doing very well.

“We will look at the position at the end of the season. For now, we just need to make sure that we win our games.”

The KZN side will host Masandawana on Wednesday, 12 April at Princess Magogo Stadium with kick-off set for 19:30.
