The latest hint Andile Jali is leaving Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns have given the strongest hint that Andile Jali is leaving the club. Jali was suspended in February for allegedly arriving in a drunken stupor at training.

Since then, the former Bafana Bafana midfield enforcer has yet to set foot at training. The club has not said a word about his situation.

ANDILE JALI IS LEAVING SUNDOWNS

Just two months before his contract expires, it has become increasingly clear that he will not return to Chloorkop.

Before the suspension, talks between the player and the club had stalled, with ‘AJ’ reportedly refusing to take a pay cut.

Now, Sundowns have given the strongest hint that Jali has no future at the club. The Matatiele-born star was turning 33 on Monday, and as per tradition, the club wishes its players well on their birthdays.

Four days ago, the club posted a message wishing Marcelo Allende a happy birthday as he turned 24.

Sundowns wished Dr Carl Tabane a happy birthday, but there were no birthday wishes for Andile Jali, who is leaving Sundowns in June

A week ago, they wished the team doctor, Dr Carl Tabane, a happy birthday, while Sipho Mbule also got the same on 22 March as he turned 25.

However, in Jali’s case, there were no birthday wishes. The former Orlando Pirates star midfielder posted snaps of him celebrating his day with friends.

HOW FANS REACTED

Famous tweep ChrisExcel tweeted: “If your day is bad today, remembers it’s Andile Jali’s birthday today, and Sundowns page didn’t post him”.

Everything Soccer, a football page on Facebook, posted: “Isn’t this strange? Mamelodi Sundowns FC haven’t posted Andile Jali on his birthday as they always do with all other players. [Maybe these are signs of where Mhlekazi stands with the club.”

Nonetheless, over 1000 people wished the midfield grafter a happy birthday on his social media profiles.

Jali has been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, although nothing concrete exists around the link. He looks set to play his football elsewhere next season.
