Sibusiso Vilakazi gives verdict on Sekhukhune’s squad depth
Sibusiso Vilakazi has given his verdict on Sekhukhune United’s squad depth, having signed for the side last month.
‘Villa’, as he is popularly known within the football circles, joined Sekhukhune after parting ways with TS Galaxy, where he only managed to make 10 appearances during his short stint with the club.
The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns attacker believes Sekhukhune’s squad depth is one of the best and well-balanced.
He reckons that it’s a really exciting time to be part of the Limpopo-based outfit.
So far, Vilakazi has played four games since joining Babina Noko and scored one goal in the process.
‘IT’S A WELL-BALANCED TEAM’
“A bit of experienced players, an experience that still have a mark and still have a point to prove which is quite good because the guys still got an appetite,” Vilakazi told the media.
“There is a bit of young once who are still trying to showcase their talent and willingness to learn also.
“So, it’s a well-balanced team. A balanced structure that has ambition with a good coach and a very demanding coach.
“We have to be on our toes to deliver good results every time when given the opportunity.”
Currently, Sekhukhune are placed seventh on the log standings with 32 points from 25 outings.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED’S NEXT ASSIGNMENT
Vilakazi will be hoping to be in the matchday squad when they take on Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, 23 April in a DStv Premiership clash.
Given the 33-year-old footballer’s extensive experience, he will be expected help Sekhukhune to cement their top eight spot.
Coach Brandon Truter has been complaining about his side failure to convert clear-cut chances, and Vilakazi seem to be the right person to help solve that problem.
The game between Chiefs and Sekhukhune will take place at Peter Mokaba Stadium with the kick-off set for 15:00.
