Marumo Gallants talisman a wanted man
Word reaching FARPost is that offers have been flooding in for the red-hot Marumo Gallants talisman, who has scored goals for fun this season.
Gallants’ Ranga Chivaviro is a wanted man after his fine run in this campaign.
Chivaviro has been in fine form for the struggling Limpopo side, attracting the interest of PSL rivals.
The 30-year-old hitman has banged in 14 goals in all competitions this season, nine in the DStv Premiership and five in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Last week, he scored a hattrick as Gallants beat Chippa United 3-1 in a DStv Premiership match.
Despite his impressive form in front of goal, Gallants, the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finalists, are languishing third from the bottom of the log standings.
The last two results in the domestic league saw the Limpopo-based side bring their points tally to 28 points, leaving 14th-placed Swallows on 29, 15th-placed Chippa on 2 and basement side Maritzburg United on 24.
THE PSL TEAM INTERESTED IN Chivaviro’s SERVICES
FARPost has gathered that Premiership new boys Richards Bay are making advances at the in-form forward.
They have made their intentions clear that they want the striker next season. “Richards Bay have made it clear they are interested in him, but it’ll be tricky because he signed a one-plus-one at the start of this season. Marumo would be keen to trigger an extension.
“There’s a bit of instability at Marumo, and it’s a no-brainer that he would consider moving if a better offer comes.
“He’s done well for himself and is open to making a switch,” a source close to the player said.
The former Baroka forward would bring experience to the Natal Boyz’s attack, having also played in Kosova.
Before joining Gallants, he played for two years in the Motsepe Championship Foundation for Venda Football Academy.
Another player on the radar of the KZN side is Chivaviro’s teammate, Lucky Mohomi. The 31-year-old is also a target for Richards Bay, who are looking to bolster their squad ahead of their second season in the top-flight.
The Natal Rich Boyz look safe from the chop, having had a good run in the first round. They are in ninth place with 31 points and five games to go.
