Mudau admits concerns of fatigue ahead of Richards Bay clash

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau has raised concerns of “tiredness” ahead of their DStv Premiership encounter against Richards Bay

Bafana Ba Style will welcome the Natal Rich Boyz at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday, 25 April 2023. The game will kick off at 15:00.

Sundowns touched down South Africa this morning from Algeria where they faced CR Belouizdad in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.

Masandawana thrashed the Algerian side with a 4-1 scoreline on Saturday night

Now, Rulani Mokwena’s charges shift their focus on their clash against the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.

Sundowns have played three consecutive draws in the DStv Premiership before losing to Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash.

But Mudau is keen that his team will be able to get fruitful results tomorrow despite their busy schedule and fatigue.

‘WE ARE LITTLE BIT TIRED’

“Obviously, we are a little bit tired. But we have a serious game on Tuesday,” Mudau told Sundowns’ media department.

“So, I think the mentality is right for the boys because we have to win. We have been drawing and losing so we need to bring the team back.

“They are a good side but as I said, we are not getting results, but if we can go into this game with the right mentality and right energy we will make sure we win the game.”

BIG WIN BIG BOOST FOR SUNDOWNS PLAYERS

Mudau went on to say that their big win against Belouizdad over the weekend will give them a big boost heading into tomorrow’s game.

“As a team, we have a 24-hour rule. We won and did celebrate the win but now the focus is on the next game,” he added.

Sundowns have already won their sixth successive league title and they are flourishing nicely on the summit of the DStv Premiership log standings with 62 points after 26 games.
