Pitso Mosimane’s Al-Ahli edge closer to promotion

Pitso Mosimane’s Al-Ahli Saudi FC have taken a massive step towards gaining promotion to the Saudi Pro League after a narrow win on Monday.

Ahli edged relegation candidates Al-Sahel 3-1 at the Prince Saud Bin Jalawi Stadium. The crucial win was earned through goals by Haithan Asiri, Ryad Biudebouz and Hicham Faik.

PROMOTION WITHIN TOUCHING DISTANCE

The result saw Mosimane’s side take another big step towards securing their spot in the lucrative Saudi topflight next season.

Mosimane was mandated to guide the team back into the land of milk and honey. This was after they were relegated for the first time in their history last season.

And the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly mentor appears to be well on course to fulfilling that mandate. In fact, he has even exceeded some expectations.

Ahli are just four points away from confirming their return to the Saudi topflight, and they have five matches remaining.

EXCITING RACE FOR THE TITLE
