Zizwe draw first blood in Western Cape Motsepe League playoffs
Zizwe United have one foot in the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs after their 1-0 victory over Young Bafana in the first leg of the Provincial Playoffs this past weekend.
Both sides were declared winners of their respective streams in the SAFA Western Cape and they are now hoping to secure a spot in the national playoffs.
The victory puts Zizwe in good stead ahead of their away leg of the playoffs this coming weekend.
As things stand, the return leg of the provincial playoff clash between the two teams will decide who will represent the Western Cape in the National Playoffs.
The winner will be joining the likes of Amavarara of the Eastern Cape, who have already qualified for the South African football third-tier National Playoffs.
Meanwhile, the battle in the Gauteng province is still on, with Dondol Stars dropping following a 1-0 defeat to Highlands Park over the weekend.
But Dondol are still cruising nicely on the summit of the log standings with 77 points, six points ahead of second-placed Soweto Super United.
