Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has revealed his candidates for the 2022/23 DStv Premiership Footballer of the Season Award
Sundowns has once again proven to be a formidable side after winning their sixth league title in a row with eight games to spare.
And with the 2022/23 campaign reaching its climax, several players have raised their hands for the prestigious Footballer of the Season Award.

Despite several players putting in impressive performances at different clubs; eyeing for the award, Mokwena reckons it should be easy to name the winner for the accolade.
“Ronwen Williams is definitely amongst the contenders of Footballer of the Season,” Mokwena told the media on Tuesday.
“I said it even after matchday 19 and 20, I said ‘what are we waiting for and when are gonna have this discussion’.
“So it’s clear that it’s Sundowns players in the top three and why are we not having the discussion?
“Tebza [Tehobo Mokoena], Ronwen [Williams], we should be discussing that, and then maybe you open a door for a Cassius[Mailula] and Themba Zwane.
“Sundowns players have been incredible, to do what they done consistently, not sometimes or five games later but consistently.
“Fortunately I’m not part of the judging panel but I can tell you and maybe the judges can also tell you that this is the easiest decisions on Footballer of the Season in many years,” Mokwena added.
Mokoena, who has captained Sundowns this season has featured in 34 games across all competitions, The midfielder has managed to score two goals and provide two assists.
Meanwhile, Williams has played in 32 games for the club, with 19 clean sheets to his name.
