Mphahlele on what will cheer AmaZulu up in last four games

AmaZulu FC defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele has pointed out what will motivate his side in their last four games in the DStv Premiership amid a relegation battle.

Usuthu are locked in a relegation scrap, and the interim head coach Ayanda Dlamini has been tasked with keeping them up.

Four points separate them from Maritzburg United who are at the bottom of the table and they are three points ahead of the 15th-placed Chippa United.

The Durban-based side has gone five games in all competitions without a victory.

AmaZulu are left with four games to play before the season ends. Three are at home against Sekhukhune United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Meanwhile, the other one will be away against Golden Arrows.

This means they won’t travel out of town anymore. Mphahlele believes this will be a major boost for his side as they fight relegation.

“It helps because we are used to the area, it’s our stadium, our people are here and it gives us that 10% of motivation,” he said.

“It gives us a little bit of comfort, I’m sure there’s no team that will come here and think it will be easy.

“But we have to show it on the pitch and fight together as players. So, it is an advantage for us.”

“Very difficult games, the next one is the most important. That’s what we are focusing on to try and get points against Sekhukhune.

“As much as they have been doing well. They also have their weaknesses that we can capitalise on.”

Dlamini’s charges will be in search of maximum points when they lock horns with the in-form Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

It will be Dlamini’s first game in front of the home crowd. The match will be staged at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 8:00 pm.
