PSL make major adjustments to remaining fixtures
The PSL have made some major adjustments to the remaining Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures as the end of the season looms closer.
The three-team race for automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership is getting more interesting. The survival battle at the bottom is also getting tense.
MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE RACE HOTTING UP
Cape Town Spurs currently hold a slight advantage at the top of the log. They are tied on 53 points alongside second-placed Casric Stars but Spurs have three goals superior advantage.
Polokwane City, on the other hand, are in third place, two points behind. They dropped crucial points against JDR Stars last week Friday.
Leopards are back at the bottom of the log following a 0-0 draw against Hungry Lions. Ex-neighbours and rivals Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila F.C. [TTM] got a lifeline after a 2-0 win against Magesi FC.
But the two sides will be hoping either Platinum City Rovers or La Masia slip up.
Baroka and VFA are still not yet safe from the chop and are currently on 30 and 31 points, respectively. Both Leopards and TTM can still reach 21 points.
PSL MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO REMAINING FIXTURES
The PSL executive committee has now resolved that all three remaining rounds of fixtures be played on the same date and kick off at the same time.
“Every effort has been made in recent times to respect the principle that matches in the final rounds of the Motsepe Foundation Championship are played on the same date and kick off at the same time,” read the circular sent to Motsepe Foundation Championship clubs.
“In accordance with this principle, all matches in the last two rounds of this season’s Motsepe Foundation Champion (on the 7th and 14th of May 2023) kick off at 15h00.
“The Executive Committee resolved at its meeting (Thursday the 20th of April 2023) that the principle should, with immediate effect, be extended to apply to the last three rounds of the Championship.”
Amended fixture list for Saturday, 29 April:
