PSL club makes shocking Ranga Chivaviro claim

With Marumo Gallants forward Ranga Chivaviro a man on demand, a PSL club has made a shocking claim about the in-form target man.

Chivaviro has been in devastating form since the start of the season. The 30-year-old has scored 16 goals in 27 outings this season, attracting the interest of several clubs on the continent.

10 of his goals have come from the 18 appearances in the DStv premiership, while six have come from the CAF Confederation Cup.

STANCE ON POTENTIAL TRANSFERS

The former Baroka marksman’s contract expires at the end of the season. However, the club has the option of a year, although it can only be triggered on mutual consent by both parties.

In fact, his management team has previously revealed that they shelved negotiations to extend so the player could focus on the relegation fight.

With two games to go before the curtain comes down on the season, Marumo are in 14th place with 29 points from 28 games.

They play newly crowned South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday as they look to move away from the drop zone. The two teams below them – Chippa United and Maritzburg United – are on 29 and 26 points, respectively.

His agent Herve Tra Bi has opened up on their stance regarding potential transfers. “We received many calls from four to five clubs, but my client’s main focus right now is to save Marumo Gallants from relegation and beat Pyramid FC of Egypt,” he told FARPost a fortnight ago.

Recently, FARPost reported that following his exploits on the continent, clubs like Al Ahly, Zamalek, Future FC, Azam FC and Simba SC were tracking the forward. Interestingly, a PSL club has made a startling revelation about the forward.

THE SHOCKING RANGA CHIVAVIRO CLAIM

“We actually enquired about his availability for next season, and we were told he had signed a pre-contract with Richards Bay. We wanted to sign him for next season, but the information we received was that it was a done deal with Richards Bay,” said a club owner in the PSL.

When asked about the issue, the player’s agent professed ignorance over the supposed Richards Bay contract.

“There is nothing like my client signing a pre-contract with Richards Bay FC or other clubs,” he told FARPost in a telephonic interview.
