Limpopo ABC Motsepe League Playoffs champions were crowned at the Oscar Mpetha Stadium in Turfloop, University of Limpopo on Sunday afternoon.
SAFA Limpopo will be happy to have concluded the 2022/23 season without a lot of shenanigans compared to the last term.
MPHENI HOME DEFENDERS CROWNED LIMPOPO ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
Mpheni Home Defenders were declared winners of the Provincial Playoffs following their 1-0 win over The Dolphins.
Stream A was won by Mpheni with 45 points after 16 games. They finished top of the table ahead of Giyani Happy Boys.
Meanwhile, Dolphins, were winners of Stream B after collecting 34 points, just a point ahead of second-placed Ngwaabe City Motors.
MPHENI HOME DEFENDERS TO REPRESENT LIMPOPO AT NATIONAL PLAYOFFS
With Mpheni crowned Limpopo champions, they will represent the province at the South African football third-tier National Playoffs for a spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The National Playoffs will take place in the KwaZulu-Natal. Ethekwini will welcome all provincial winners, with the playoffs set to start from 5-11 June 2023.
So far, only seven teams have been confirmed, while two are still waiting to confirm their representatives.
However, in the Western Cape, there is drama unfolding after Young Bafana were crowned the Provincial Champions last week.
According to reports, Zizwe United have lodged a complaint alleging that Young Bafana used a player of another team in their Provincial Playoff encounter.
SAFA Western Cape will issue out a verdict in due course regarding this matter before the National Playoffs take the centre stage.
The Provincial Playoffs in Free State and KwaZulu-Natal are yet to take place due to pending cases, with fixtures subject to change.
