Truter makes bold claim on rising superstar Elias Mokwana
Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter has made a bold claim on the club’s rising superstar Elias Mokwana following a good season.
Mokwana was signed from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Platinum City Rovers ahead of this season after impressing the DStv Premiership club.
Mokwana has improved a lot in his performance this campaign. He has been one of Truter’s trusted players since he took charge of the team in November 2022.
Truter replaced Kaitano Tembo at the helm following a string of bad results and poor form.
The 23-year-old speedy attacker has played 26 matches in all competitions this season. He has been directly involved in four goals. Mokwana has scored two goals and provided two assists.
The mentor believes the attacker has a lot of potential and if properly guided he will one day reach the level of Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng.
TRUTER’S BOLD CLAIM ON MOKWANA
Truter predicts that Mokwana has a bright future in his football career. He only needs to be guided very well.
“The Mokwana boy is now coming alive, everybody is taking notice of him. Definitely, I believe he will in the next two or three season be one of the bigger players in the league,” said Truter.
“The boy has so much potential and talent that should be nurtured properly. When I came in he was nowhere close, we saw it.
“We have to get the game plan and playing style that will aid all the talent.”
FOCUS ON NEDBANK CUP
Mokwana is expected to be in action when Babina Noko take on red hot Cape Winelands outfit Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup second semi-final encounter on Sunday 7 April.
Kickoff at Danie Craven Stpadium is at 6pm.
