Arrows interested to sign Pirates loanee permanently

Lamontville Golden Arrows seem to have expressed their interest in signing the Orlando Pirates loanee permanently.

FARPost understands that Abafana Bes’thende are looking to keep the attacking midfielder Ntsako Makhubela as they look to reinforce their squad for the next DStv Premiership season.

According to a source, the club has already communicated its intention to the player. And the 29-year-old is keen to stay put at the Durban-based club.

Now, with the PSL July-August transfer window approaching, Arrows are understood to be planning to engage the Buccaneers.

Makhubela rejoined Arrows in January this year after he couldn’t cut the mustard during his one-year-and-a-half stay at Pirates.

The Soweto giants secured the Johannesburg-born’s signature in 2021 after he had two impressive seasons with the KZN outfit.

LACK OF GAME TIME AT PIRATES

At Pirates, he was only utilised in his first season by co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids. He amassed 16 appearances in all competitions.

In his second campaign, he never donned Ezimnyama Ngenkani shirt after Jose Riveiro took the reins.

Meanwhile, when he signed for the KZN outfit earlier this season, the duration of the loan spell was never specified. When FARPost got hold of the club’s media officer Mqo Thusi, he stated, “It’s just a loan deal to Arrows, but we can’t tell you how long it is.”

Since he began his second stint with Arrows, Makhubela seems to be relishing his life as a footballer again. He’s playing along with some of the players he used to play with during his first spell at the club.

He has played 11 matches in the DStv Premiership and one in the Nedbank Cup. He found the back of the net when his side triumphed 3-2 over Kaizer Chiefs in February.
