Three DStv Premiership clubs jostling for Zimbabwean gunslinger

Three DStv Premiership clubs are jostling for the services of a Zimbabwean gunslinger who is plying his trade in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The three clubs, namely AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United, are preparing to invade the market in search of players.

At this point, top PSL clubs are angling for players whose contracts are set to lapse on June 30.

And the trio of AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United are keen on signing Ishmael Wadi.

The 30-year-old is currently in the books of Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit JDR Stars.

WHY ISHMAEL WADI ATTRACTED INTEREST OF TOP PSL CLUBS

Wadi, the former Caps United winger has 11 goals in 23 matches in the second tier league, a feat that is evident of his prowess.

His agent, John of Royal Bridge Industries told FARPost that clubs are making inquiries for the player whose JDR Stars contract ends on 30 June.

This however is not the first time, Ishmael Wadi is being linked to the ambitious AmaZulu.

Last year, the Zimbabwe international was said to have joined Usuthu but JDR Stars rubbished the claims as they held onto the speedy winger.

Kaizer Chiefs are also monitoring Wadi as they seek to bolster their forward line. Chiefs already have the likes of Caleb Bimenyimana and Christian Saile Basomboli.

Another fast-growing PSL club, Sekhukhune United, will hope to win Ishmael Wadi’s signature.

ISHMAEL WADI DREAMING OF BRIGHTER PROSPECTS

Wadi is confident of better strides next season after notching 11 goals this season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

“I can’t complain about this season. It’s been the most competitive season since I came here,” said Wadi.

“Personally, I have improved in so many respects because the level of competition has been on another level.

“I hope the next destination will also be worthwhile and helpful to my development as a player. All in all I am happy and confident of better prospects.
