Chippa fail to move out of relegation zone after defeat to TS Galaxy

Chippa United suffered a huge setback in their battle for DStv Premiership survival after a 4-0 defeat to TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The defeat saw Lehlohonolo Seema‘s side drop points that would have moved them out of the relegation zone, as Galaxy took another step towards securing a top-eight finish.

The Chilli Boys remain 15th on the table with 29 points from 29 outings, leaving everything to their last game of the season to determine their fate.

It was the visitors, who made a bright start, making the early inroads towards the home side’s goal.

As the first period progressed, the complexion of the game took a different direction with the Rockets moving forward in numbers.

Sead Ramović’s side managed to find the back of the net in the 33rd minute, courtesy of Kamogelo Sebelebele.

This was the 19-year-old’s first league goal of the season for the Mpumalanga club.

The showdown calmed down a bit as the half drew on, although Galaxy were starting to settle into a rhythm of the game.

In the second stanza, Chippa came out guns blazing looking to turn things around and find an equaliser.

The intensity of the showpiece in the second half allowed the spectators to enjoy a brilliant day of the mouthwatering match from the stands.

However, Chippa continued to struggle to threaten the hosts’ shot-stopper.

But the Rockets had a couple of chances to bury the game but failed to capitalise on their goal-scoring opportunities.

Whereas Chippa’s technical team threw on all their trusted weapons they had on the bench as they desperately chased the game with the hope of pulling one back.

In the 52nd minute, Sebelebele completed his brace, as he made it 2-0.

When we thought we had seen enough, Galaxy added two more goals to embarrass Chippa.

Galaxy’s match plan worked in their favour as they managed to hold on to their lead.
