Khama Billiat interest confirmed

Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat will certainly not be short of suitors when his contract with Amakhosi ends next month, with interest in him confirmed.

Billiat is winding up his contract with Chiefs, and it remains unclear whether he will stay at the club.

The former Zimbabwe international’s stay at Chiefs has been underwhelming, and it won’t be a surprise if the club does not renew his contract.

YANGA CONFIRM KHAMA BILLIAT INTEREST

This season, injuries have worsened his fate, as he has missed the entire second round of the season.
Of course, Chiefs recently said Billiat had started training, but it remains unclear whether he will be available for their final game of the season.

Newly crowned Tanzania champions Young Africans have confirmed their interest in the former Ajax star.

The club’s president Engineer Hersi Ally Said told FARPost that Billiat was on their radar. He, however, said they were monitoring the situation to see whether Chiefs renew his deal.

“If you ask me, he’s one of my favourite players. The type of quality he has is out of this world. So, why not, if we can get a chance of having him?” he said.

HIGH-LEVEL PLAYER

On Sunday, Yanga’s vice president Arafat Haji also confirmed to Isolezwe that Billiat was on their wanted list.

“He is a high-level player that we would like to have in our team,” Haji said.

“We know him, and we know that his contract is ending. However, he is still a Chiefs player. We must respect that.

“We will discuss the signing of players and plans for next season after the season is over.”
After a trophy-laden stint with Mamelodi Sundowns, the 32-year-old crossed the floor to Amakhosi in 2018.

However, he is yet to replicate the form he displayed at Chloorkop under Pitso Mosimane.
