Boitumelo Rabale reveals PSL player she looks up to

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ midfielder Boitumelo Rabale has revealed a PSL player she looks up to.

After an impressive season last term, the Lesotho international hasn’t looked back once. She has carried the same form she displayed last season.

Rabale finished the 2021/22 season with 23 goals and won the Player of the Season. And this season, the 26-year-old already has 11 goals in 13 appearances.

The midfielder has been an integral part of the Sundowns team that constantly has changes to the line-up every week.

And because of her great consistent form, it’s no surprise why this is the case. Because of the style of play the midfielder possesses, comparisons of her and the Sundowns midfielder [men’s team], Themba Zwane have been made by fans.

And to no surprise, Rabale confirmed Zwane as her favourite football player and a player that she looks up to.

RABALE ON WHY SHE LOOKS UP TO ZWANE

“The player I look up to is Themba Zwane. Obviously, because we have a similar style of play. I think we also have similar football brains,” Rabale told FARPost.

Zwane has been a consistent performer for Sundowns, who have won six successive DStv Premiership titles.

Rabale revealed what keeps her motivated and focused on her game, week in and week out.

“Discipline and teamwork. My teammates and technical team at Sundowns have been helping me out to stay on top of my game,” concluded Rabale.

Sundowns will continue their fight to retain the title, as they will take on UJ at the UJ Soweto Campus on Sunday, 21 May.

A victory in this game will keep Rabale and her teammates at the summit over their title-challenging foes, UWC Ladies.
