Jerry Tshabalala on Sundowns Ladies’ new signing

Sundowns Ladies head coach, Jerry Tshabalala revealed why new signing, Refilwe Tholakele, boosts their attack.

Before Tholakele signed for Sundowns, she had been battling some contractual issues with her previous side, Malambo FC of Equatorial Guinea.

After her unexpected exit from the Guinea side, due to the speculated unfair treatment she experienced at the club.

During this period, Tholakele was reported to be training with the Hollywoodbets Super League Champions, Sundowns, by a Botswana publication, Guardian Sun.

TSHABALALA ON THOLAKELE’S PERFORMANCE AGAINST UWC

“The position of Refilwe [Tholakele] is making a huge difference in our striking department. You saw her first game, she scored.

“She is going to come, she is going to score more goals, and we are happy with her performance,” said Tshabalala.

Tshabalala also explained the reasoning behind the inclusion of Tholakele in the starting line-up, after being announced just hours before the game.

“It was our secret weapon to bring her in [starting line-up]. She has been training with the team while she has been out battling with the work permit and all that.

“But when she came back and got her work permit. We knew that we have got our top player,” concluded the Sundowns head coach.
