Mokwena issues update on his future at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has issued an update on his future with the DStv Premiership champions after the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.

Mokwena’s contract with Masandawana comes to an end in June 2023.

The 36-year-old mentor guided the Tshwane giants to winning the 2022/23 DStv Premiership. He made history by clinching the title with seven matches left to end the campaign after enjoying unbeaten run of 24 matches in all competitions.

To add, he helped Sundowns reach the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League for the first time in four years.
For his good run, Mokwena was rewarded with a Coach of the Season award on Sunday, 29 May, at the PSL Awards.

He beat the duo of SuperSport United’s Gavin Hunt and Jose Riveiro of Orlando Pirates to the award.
