Xolani ‘Blackberry’ Nkala ponders next move after TTM exit
Xolani ‘Blackberry’ Nkala has set his sights on a new challenge after parting ways with relegated Motsepe Foundation Championship side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
The 27-year-old spent the past season at the former PSL club and became one of the popular players with the club’s supporters.
Nkala is most famous for his showboating skills at Kasi festive tournaments. He previously had a two-season stint at now-defunct Mbombela United between 2017-2019.
After three seasons of playing amateur football, he was lured back to professional football by the Limpopo club; TTM. He featured 21 times across all competitions.
XOLANI BLACKBERRY’ NKALA REFLECTS ON THE PAST SEASON
“It was a great season, we had our ups and downs but we fought until the end,” he told FARPost.
“Personally, it was also a great season because it’s been a long time since I played in a professional set-up. People showed me, love, too much. Others were waiting to see whether I would fail so they can write, but those who were supporting me showed everything, and I appreciate everyone who has been there with me.
“I also want to appreciate TTM for the opportunity. I am so grateful that they played their part in my career so I appreciate everything they did to me,” he said.
Xolani Nkala ON THE NEXT MOVE
This publication has it on good authority that there is an offer from the Motsepe Foundation Championship, though Nkala has refused to divulge any information.
“Whenever the offer is good I will go for it. My aim is to play in the DStv Premiership and I won’t stop working hard to achieve that.”
TTM are set to lose players such as Luvolwethu Mpeta, Mthokozisi Nene, Thabiso Nkoana and other seasoned campaigners. They will play in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League next season.
