Why Bafana Bafana doesn’t need motivation against Morocco

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has revealed why he doesn’t need to motivate his charges ahead of the crucial encounter against Morocco.

Heading into the match, some people may view it as a ‘dead rubber’. Both teams have already sealed qualification for the 2023 AFCON to be held in Ivory Coast.

The Atlas Lions are with no doubt the best team in the continent. They defied all odd at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. The North Africa country finished fourth behind Argentina, France and Croatia.

To add, Morocco has one of the best squads. Most of their national team players play in the top five European leagues [England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France].

HUGO BROOS SAYS FACING MOROCCO IT’S A MOTIVATION ON ITSELF

Moreover, the mentor believes playing an opponent as big as Morocco is enough motivation for the players to go on the field and give out their utmost best.

“I should not be pleased if I have to motivate the players to play against Morocco,” said Broos

“If the players are not motivated to play against Morocco, a team like Morocco, then I think it’s better then you go home. This is where you become a preferencial player, this is a big game.

“If you do a big performance for the team and if you have a positive result, it’s good for you as a player. Also, those games are seen by many people because it’s an interesting game

In addition, Broos said: “That has to be enough as a motivation for a player if you play against a team like that. And then if you can’t motivate yourself for such a game, then you have to stop [playing football] and do something else.”

Furthermore kickoff at FNB Stadium on Saturday 17 June is at 5pm.
