Makaab issues update on Ndah’s future at Pirates

Olisa Ndah’s agent Mike Makaab has issued an update on the future of his client at Orlando Pirates ahead of the 2023/24 PSL season.

Ndah was reportedly on the wishlist of Serie A side Sassuolo during the January transfer window, but the deal fell through after he sustained an injury.

The Nigerian international has been one of the Pirates’ reliable defenders since joining the club at the start of 2021/22 campaign from Akwa United.

Ndah caught the attention of the Soweto giants after helping Akwa United win their first-ever league title in Nigeria before making a switch to SA.

The dreadlocked centre-back turned himself into fan-favorite at Pirates with his ball playing abilities and defensive prowess.

In the just-ended season, Ndah made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Sea Robbers under Jose Riveiro’s mentorship.

With Ndah attracting interest from Sassuolo in the previous transfer window, his agent has confirmed that the towering defender will stay at Pirates for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Ndah faces stiff competition in the centre-back position with Nkosinathi Sibisi, Tapelo Xoki, Innocent Maela, and Sandile Mthethwa all fighting for a starting berth.

In addition, the Soweto giants finished runners-up to Mamelodi Sundowns who won their sixth league title in a row. As a result of finishing second on the log, Pirates qualified for CAF Champions League next season.

Pirates also won Cup double in Riveiro’s maiden season after clinching the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup.

Furthermore, the Spaniard was nominated for the Coach of the Season award alongside SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt and Mamelodi Sundowns’ Rulani Mokwena, who walked away with the award.
