Richards Bay FC bolster squad with two more signings

Richards Bay FC have completed the signing of two more players in preparation for the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

The Natal Rich Boys are going guns blazing in the transfer window as they look to improve from their inconsistent maiden season in the top-flight.

Bay have already welcomed two new players from Marumo Gallants. who were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Lucky Mohomi and Letsie Koapeng were snapped up by Richards Bay FC after impressive turnout for Gallants in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Mohomi made 26 appearances for Gallants and scored one goal while chipping in with six assists. On the other hand, Koapeng played 29 games and scored three goals.

The duo helped the Limpopo-based side to go to the Confederations Cup semi-finals were they were beaten by Tanzanian outfit Young Africans.

Meanwhile, the KZN-based side announced Thato Mohlamme from Uthongathi FC and Justice Figareido from All Stars FC.

“Richards Bay Football Club would like to announce the new signings for the upcoming season. Thato Mohlamme from Uthongathi FC and Justice Figareido from All Stars FC.

“Welcome to the family of Natal Rich Boys,” the club confirmed in a statement.

In the just-ended season, Richards Bay won eight games in the league, drawn nine and and lost 13 times. They finished 13th on the league table after accumulating 33 points.

Furthermore, Gallants’ talisman Ranga Chivaviro has reportedly signed pre-contract with Richards Bay few months ago.

However, the Vasili Manousakis-coached team are yet to announce the striker’s signing. Local reports suggests the goal poacher could be headed to either Kaizer Chiefs or Yanga.

Chivaviro netted 17 goals across all competitions for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in 30 games he featured in.

In addition, Richards Bay have already parted ways with Orlando Pirates loanee Nkanyiso Zungu amid disciplinary issues.
