Former Lille coach eyeing Kaizer Chiefs job

While there have been impediments in the way of Nasreddine Nabi being appointed the Kaizer Chiefs new head coach, FARPost has learnt that the former LOSC Lille coach is eyeing the job.

It is no longer a secret Amakhosi are looking to have a new man taking the reins from Arthur Zwane. This is after ‘10111’ had an underwhelming season with the Soweto giants in his first year in charge.

News about the former Young Africans SC coach having talks with Chiefs have been circulating for quite some time with the two parties not finding common ground.

However, there’s still a ray of hope that the two parties could still come to an agreement. Meanwhile, another coach is set to add a CV to a full inbox of Amakhosi.

FORMER LILLE COACH EYEING KAIZER CHIEFS JOB

FARPost has learnt that the Chiefs coaching job has sparked an interest of the French coach Fernando Da Cruz. From what this publication has gathered, the Frenchman has been doing research on the job through the unnamed agent in South Africa.

The 50-year-old is currently unattached after he was sacked by the Morocco Botola Pro outfit ASFAR Rabat in May.

This was after his side suffered elimination in the Throne Cup’s quarter-final, Arab Cup’s second preliminary round and CAF Confederation Cup’s quarter-final.

In spite of that, he left ASFAR on top of the table and they are now on the verge of securing the league title for the first time since the 2007/08 season.

The French-Portuguese tactician holds UEFA Pro Licence and has over 22 years in coaching. He has been a scout, junior team manager, and B team manager for French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille.

He has also managed the now-defunct Royal Excel Mouscron of Belgium.

Da Cruz initially joined ASFAR Rabat as the Technical Director at the beginning of the 2021/22 season. However, he turned into the club’s head coach at the start of the previous campaign.

He oversaw 43 matches and managed 25 wins while he drew 11 and lost seven.
