Sekhukhune and AmaZulu in talks over potential swap deal

Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu are in talks over a potential swap deal ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

Babina Noko have been busy in the transfer market as they prepare to compete in five competitions in the upcoming season.

Sekhukhune qualified for CAF Confederation Cup and they’ll be involved in four local competitions, namely MTN8, Carling Black Label Cup, DStv Premiership and Nedbank Cup.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu who had an underwhelming campaign in the 2022/23 season are already started making drastic changes to the team.

Usuthu have parted company with Romain Folz and Ayanda Dlamini who served as technical advisor and interim coach respectively.

In addition, AmaZulu also confirmed the departure of veteran striker Lehlohonolo Majoro who will see his contract expire at the end of June 2023.

With the off-season transfer window looming large, this publication understands that Sekhukhune and AmaZulu are in talks over a possible swap deal.

“Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu have entered into talk over a swap deal,” a well-placed source told FARPost.

“The swap deal will involve Victor Letsoalo going to AmaZulu and Sekhukhune getting Rally Bwalya in return.

“So, it looks like the penalty that Letsoalo conceded against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final didn’t sit well with management. Hence, there are talks of him joining AmaZulu,” added the source.

Letsoalo joined the Limpopo-based side at the start of last season from Royal AM after scoring 17 goals Shawn Mkhize-owned club.

And the 30-year-old attacker has seemingly struggled to replicate the form he displayed at Royal. He netted only five goals for Sekhukhune.

On the other hand, Bwalya had a slow start in his first season in PSL. The attacker scored just one goal in 20 games in all competitions. But the Zambian seemed to be adapting in the midseason even though the team wasn’t doing well.
