Former Sundowns defender decides on his future at VFA
Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Luvhengo Mungomeni has made a decision on his future at Venda Football Academy [VFA].
Mungomeni is leaving the Vhembe-based side after two seasons with the Motsepe Foundation Championship club.
The ex-Swallows man was the head of scout for VFA for the last two years. He also served as an assistant coach to the now Sundowns set play coach Michael Loftman.

Mungomeni also shared a clip with a note to thank the Limpopo club for giving him a chance.
“I am grateful to have been part of Venda Football Academy FC for the past two seasons,” said Mungomeni.
“Talent identification is in the blood. Football journey continues as I will continue changing lives through football.”
LUVHENGO MUNGOMENI’S NEXT MOVE
Mungomeni went on to state that his next move will be revealed in due course.
“My destination will be announced soon. Thank you VFA family,” he added.
In the just-ended Motsepe Foundation Championship season, VFA finished in 12th position with 38 points.
Just a week ago, VFA appointed Joel Masutha as the club’s head coach for the 2023/24 season after saving the side from a sinking ship.
Masutha went on to squeeze in Morgan Shivambu as his assistant coach from arch-rivals Black Leopards.
As reported by this publication four days ago VFA also roped in ex-Leopards physical trainer Alex Muruba prior to the new campaign.
This will be VFA’s third season in the South African football third tier and will be hoping to achieve it’s ultimate goal of gaining automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.
The side is set to announce new additions to the club in due course, with some of their important players set to depart the team.
