The type of football Franco Martin wants to play at AmaZulu
Newly appointed AmaZulu FC coach Pablo Franco Martin has detailed out the type of football he wants to instill and play at the club.
Franco Martin was announced as the Usuthu mentor on Monday 20 June ahead of the 2023/24 PSL season as he penned a three-year contract with the KZN outfit
The Spaniard takes the reigns from caretaker coach Ayanda Dlamini. The latter was in charge of the last six league games of the just-ended campaign.
PABLO FRANCO MARTIN WANTS TO PLAY ATTACKING FOOTBALL AT AMAZULU
According to the 43-year-old, he wants to play attacking football. This in turn will make it easier for his side to grind the results and win matches.
“I’m an attacking football mentality coach, I don’t understand football without ambition,” said Franco Martin.
“Our ambition is going to be playing best football as possible, try to be offensive and try to win as many games as possible.
“I want the fans to see a team that is aggressive, committed in defense and that’s working hard in every action of the game.
“I’m going there with an intention with of making history or bringing the team to a place it deserves.”
ONE ADVANTAGE PABLO FRANCO MARTIN HAS AT AMAZULU
The tactician nicknamed “Cijimpi” revealed that he’s well versed with the SA top-flight as he’s been following it for some years now.
To add, when he was the coach of Tanzanian giants Simba SC, he faced Orlando Pirates in the CAF Confederation Cup’s quarter-finals.
“I’ve been watching the PSL for a long time, I think it’s around four or five years. Also coached some players who played in that league,” he added.
“I often talk to them and discuss about the level there. I know it’s a very competitive league, any team can beat any one.”
