How loan moves have shaped Justice Chabalala
Chippa United defender Justice Chabalala has explained how the loan moves while he was still at Orlando Pirates have shaped him to be a better person.
Chabalala is heading for his second season at the Chilli Boys after joining at the beginning of last season. The 31-year-old featured 13 times for Chippa last season under their different coaches.
During his time with the Buccaneers, Chabalala never really cemented his place in the starting line-up and spent most of the time out on loan. He has been loaned out to Chippa, Sekhukhune United as well as now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic.
“When I arrived at [Orlando] Pirates I played my role. I got four Man of the Match [awards] in a row. I did very well, but you know football,” said Chabalala.
“I was happy when they loaned me to Chippa, I went back to Pirates and they loaned me to Bloemfontein Celtic and I was happy also. Actually, all the teams that I went to I was very happy. Also at Sekhukhune United they welcomed me very well, they have a good team and great leaders.”
HOW EXPERIENCE SHAPED JUSTICE CHABALALA A BETTER PERSON
“I gained a lot of experience and I learnt a lot from different people. So I have become stronger because I GOT more challenges. I also learned a lot of languages so it was a good one for me.”
“We had a good season, especially at the beginning. But towards the end it was not that great because, in our last game, we were fighting for relegation,” he said. It’s things that we don’t want to see. So I think we will do better next time.”
THE LIMPOPO-BORN DEFENDER ON HIS PERSONAL PERFORMANCES
“It was on and off because of competition and Injuries but for me it was good. But it was good on my side because if you check we fought for relegation but I feel like we were supposed to do better than before.
“We had a good team but it’s football. You win some and lose some, everyone was raving about Chippa when we started but at the end, we were down there, but it’s football.”
