What does the future hold for Boitumelo Radiopane?
Boitumelo Radiopane’s agent Mike Makaab has revealed why he is doubtful of what the future holds for his client ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
For Radiopane’s agent Mike Makaab, it is not clear where he will play next season between Cape Town Spurs and Orlando Pirates.
The exciting star carved a niche for himself when he joined Cape Town Spurs on loan from Orlando Pirates.
From the beginning of 2022/23 season, he was in a scintillating form, as he helped the team break into the DStv Premiership.
This followed his trailblazing performances in the DStv Diski Challenge where he scored 24 goals during the 2021/22 season. He continued with the rich vein of form in the Motsepe Foundation Championship where he scored seven goals.
However with three days before his Cape Town Spurs loan ends, Radiopane’s agent Mike Makaab is unsure of the next step.
Cape Town Spurs have already expressed their desire to retain the 20-year-old, despite that he is injured.
Undoubtedly staying at Cape Town Spurs is sensible considering how his position at Pirates is tightly contested.
WHAT MIKE MAKAAB SAID
“At this point, it is not clear where he is going. Because the fact is that he is not going to be able to play for a while now,” Makaab said as quoted by Joburg Post.
“So the best thing for him to do now is undergo his rehabilitation. But in an environment where he is close to home so that he can speed up the process of his recovery.”
Cape Town Spurs head coach Shaun Bartlett wants to keep Radiopane as they prepare for their DStv Premiership sojourn.
“We have already indicated that we would like to keep Radiopane. That conversation though will obviously start between management and his club. And see if the possibility of him returning to us for next season will happen or not,” Bartlett said.
Radiopane suffered a injury during Cape Town Spurs’ promotion play-offs against Casric Stars.
He is likely to miss the pre-season and likely the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
