Sukazi on why Ramovic is a ‘blessing’ to SA football

Sead Ramovic appealing to the referee

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has pointed out why the Rockets head coach Sead Ramovic is “a blessing” to South African football.

The German coach has been at the helm of TS Galaxy since 2021. He took over from Owen Da Gama who had been relieved of his duties following a poor start to the 2021/22 season.

Sukazi has recalled a statement he stated when he unveiled the 44-year-old tactician. He said the arrival of Ramovic “would prove to be a blessing in South African football”.

He believes the ex-Wolfsburg goalkeeper has been of help in getting Galaxy players ready for the national team. Sukazi says the country is in need of foreign coaches like Ramovic, who’ll add value to football.

WHY RAMOVIC IS A BLESSING TO SA FOOTBALL

“I had said it before when I was asked about appointing coach Sead Ramovic, remember at the time when he joined TS Galaxy, he had never been a head coach anywhere,” Sukazi told FARPost.

“I asked those who were present at the press conference to quote me one day to say the arrival of the Sead Ramovic will prove to be a blessing to South African football.

“So, when you see him now [his impact] on players like Aubaas and the few others that the coach [Hugo Broos] may choose from. Then it’s the best testimony to my statement back in 2021 when Ramovic arrived in the country.

“And we want as a country foreign coaches who will add value in many ways. But one of the most important is when they produce players of international level.”

Ramovic has been in charge of the Mpumalanga outfit in 59 matches, winning 17 wins, drawing 21 and losing 21.
