Phathutshedzo Nange finds a new home

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Black Leopards midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange has found a new home at SuperSport United. Nange was confirmed by the Pretoria club on a two-year deal on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old reunites with coach Gavin Hunt, who he played under at Chiefs and now-defunct Bidvest Wits.

SUPERSPORT UNITED A NEW HOME FOR ‘POGBA’

“SuperSport United is pleased to confirm the arrival of Phathutshedzo Nange from Kaizer Chiefs on a two-year contract,” the club said in a statement.

Nange started his professional career at Black Leopards in 2014 and parted with them to join Bidvest Wits in 2019. He later moved on to Stellenbosch for just a season where he made 24 appearances and netted five goals.

SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews says the club has admired Nange for some time.

“Phathu Nange is a player we have liked for some time. So it’s great that we have been able to secure him on a free contract from Kaizer Chiefs,” he said. Nange parted ways with Amakhosi after two seasons at the club.

“Having played for Gavin before, we are confident he will hit the ground running and give our midfield a boost with goals and assists as he did at Stellenbosch, Bidvest Wits and Black Leopards before.”

PHATHUTSHEDZO NANGE EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW JOURNEY

Nange says he is looking forward to a new journey at the three-time premiership champions.

“I would like to thank SuperSport United for the opportunity they gave me. It is a great feeling to join SuperSport and I’m looking forward and excited to start a new journey in a positive way.

“I worked with coach Gavin before and we had a clean working relationship. He is a winning coach by nature and good for his players because we all want to win at the end of the day,” he said.
