PSL club changes its name

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda Football Academy [VFA] have changed their name ahead of the 2023/24 PSL season.

VFA as they were commonly known will now be referred to as Venda Football Club [VFC] and have also introduced a new look logo.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, 28 June 2023, through their social media platforms.

The upcoming season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship will be the third one for the Limpopo club since purchasing the status of Cape Umoya United in 2021.

The club is founded by Robinson Ramaite and Itani Munzhelele who also serves as the chairman. They spent two seasons in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League before buying a professional League status.

Venda Football Club came close to securing a promotion spot in their first season. But it was a different ball game in their second season during 2022/23 as they narrowly escaped relegation.

“We are delighted to unveil our new team logo. Marking a significant milestone in our journey of growth and dedication to excellence as a football club,” the club said in a statement.
