Lucas Radebe’s verdict on Ntseki Molefi appointment

Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs legend Lucas Radebe has given his verdict on Molefi Ntseki’s appointment as Amakhosi’s new head coach.

This comes after Chiefs announced Ntseki as the club’s new head coach for the upcoming 2023/24 PSL season.

The Glamour Boys’ restructuring of the technical team saw Arthur Zwane return to the role of assistant coach, together with Dillon Sheppard.

Before Ntseki was appointed the new head coach of the Soweto giants, he served as the club’s head of technical and youth development at Chiefs.

However, the news of Ntseki’s appointment did not sit well with the club’s supporters, who took their frustrations to social media platforms.

The former Bafana captain, Radebe, did not beat around the bush in expressing his views on the appointment of Ntseki as the Soweto giants’ coach.

LUCAS RADEBE: ‘MOLEFI NTSEKI’S APPOINTMENT A MISMATCH’

Radebe stated that he thought his former side would get someone better to take over the coaching as he believes that Ntseki hasn’t proven enough to be a better coach.

In recent weeks, Chiefs were linked with ex-Young Africans coach Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi. He was expected to take over the coaching reins at Amakhosi.

However, the long-drawn negotiations did not materialise as the Tunisian mentor wanted to bring his own team to work with.

“Well, for me, I thought we would get someone better. Not like Ntseki is not good enough,” Radebe told the media.

“But I don’t think he has proven enough to be a quality coach for a big club like Kaizer Chiefs.

“For me, it’s a mismatch. I might be wrong because he might take Kaizer Chiefs to greater heights this season.

“So, for that, we just have to wait and see.” But Chiefs’ hierarchy believes that Ntseki’s wealth of experience in coaching would take the club to the highest level.
