Premiership returnees Polokwane City have continued with their bid to reinforce their arsenal, after signing a veteran midfielder from Sekhukhune United.

Rise and Shine are looking forward making an impact on their return to the DStv Premiership after winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship this past season.

They will be making their return to the elite league having been relegated from the DStv Premiership following at the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Limpopo-based side started strengthening their squad with the signing of Oswin Appollis from Pretoria Callies.

Oswin Appollis surfaced at the PSL returnees Polokwane City, having previously played in the Ajax Cape Town ranks.

He also played in SuperSport United in the DStv Diski Challenge side, where he was a regular goalscorer.

WHO IS THE NEW SIGNING AT POLOKWANE CITY?

Polokwane City continued with their efforts to assemble a formidable squad as they acquired the services of Given Mashikinya. The 32-year-old spent the second half of the 2022/23 season with Sekhukhune United.

He however did not renew his contract with the club. Impeccable sources at Sekhukhune United told FARPost that Given Mashikinya signed a short-term contract with Polokwane City.

Mashikinya started his professional career at Mbombela United in 2013 and he later joined Black Aces in 2014.

He also played Bloemfontein Celtic and Maritzburg United before joining Sekhukhune United in January 2023.

During his brief stay at Babina Noko, Mashikinya only played two matches in the Nedbank Cup, with no goal to his name.

Mashikinya will add much-needed experience to Polokwane City in the forthcoming season.
