Vasili Manousakis on whether he would do co-coaching again

Vasili Manousakis, who was once a co-coach at Richards Bay FC, has spoken about whether he would do joint head coaching again.

Manousakis joined the KZN outfit at the beginning of the previous season to co-coach with Pitso Dladla. The club did well under the pair’s watchful eyes in the first round of their maiden season in the DStv Premiership.

The Natal Rich Boyz spent the first round of the season in second position on the log standings.

However, things went south in the second round with the side suffering recurring defeats. The club then promoted Manousakis to the head coach position.

As a result, he was, along with assistant coaches Dladla and Ronnie Gabriel, sacked at the end of the season.

Manousakis says he would consider co-coaching if it’s the right project. He also feels he picked up some important lessons in it and knows what to do for it to work out.

“Yeah I’ve done co-coaching before, so it all depends on the type of project,” he told FARPost.

“Also who? And where? I know where it works. I know where we could improve, so to speak.

“Working in the co-coaching set-up, you learn from the tough times, you get some good learnings.

“It’s something I would consider, but it has to be the right project. It was a bold move to join Richards Bay FC and I’m glad that I did.”

“Nothing at the moment, but there’s one or two calls that I’ve received from some people but nothing concrete at the moment,” he added.

“It’s local and just more to enquire about what I would be interested in this project or that project.

“But nothing concrete has come yet.”
