Thabo Rakhale finds new home in Botswana

Former Orlando Pirates star Thabo Rakhale has found a new home, this time around in Botswana.

Rakhale has been on the sidelines for a year after parting ways with Sekhukhune United

And since then, the dribbling wizard struggled to find a new team to continue to showcase his God-given talent.

When Rakhele struggled to get a new team, the 33-year-old claimed that many teams said that they cannot afford him because he played for big clubs such as Pirates.

But the talented winger held on as he never considered retirement, as he believed that he still has much to offer to the beautiful game.

THABO RAKHALE FINDS A NEW CLUB

The Ex-Chippa United playmaker has joined Botswana side Township Rollers.

Rollers confirmed the acquisition of Rakhale on Tuesday night. He joins the club as a free agent.

“Township Rollers is pleased to announce the signing of South African winger Thabo Rakhale,” read the club’s statement.

“Join us in welcoming the skillful former Orlando Pirates, Chippa United, and Sekhukhune United star to the Blues.”

The well-travelled player also represented teams such as Sivutsa Stars, Polokwane City and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM].

In his professional football career so far, he made 212 appearances, netted 13 goals and further provided 16 assists to his name.

His rich experience of the beautiful game is seen as a key move to fortify Rollers squad and guide the side to the promised land.

Rakhale is the second former Pirates player to join Rollers after the signing of centre forward Siphamandla Sangweni. He joined Rollers on a two-year deal.

To add to that, Rakhale and Sangweni won’t be the only South African players plying their trade in Botswana. They join other ex-Pirates players, talking about the likes of Rooi Mahamutsa and Sifiso Myeni.
