Striker facing uncertain future at Orlando Pirates

An Orlando Pirates striker who recently returned from a loan spell is facing an uncertain future at the club ahead of the new season.

Tshegofatso Mabasa’s future at Mayfair may be in doubt with the club yet to indicate whether they will keep him for the next season.

The 26-year-old spent the previous campaign on a season long-loan at Sekhukhune United. Perhaps it’s one season to dismiss from mind for Mabasa who only found the back of the net twice in 20 appearances he gathered at the Limpopo side.

Meanwhile, before he joined Babina Noko, Mabasa had netted 18 goals for the Buccaneers in 66 matches he played in two seasons.

This website got hold of the striker’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane who confirmed the player is back at Pirates. However, he stated they were still going to discuss his future before the season starts.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic man is currently with the Bafana Bafana squad that is playing COSAFA Cup in Durban.

“We’re still talking about it,” Jazzman answered to FARPost when asked about the future of the striker at Pirates.

“At the moment he’s with the club until further information…I think after this COSAFA thing, we should be able to know what’s going to happen.”

Moreover, according to multiple reports, Ezimnyama Ngenkani are also set to offload the Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah. They have also welcomed back Zakhele Lepasa who spent the last six months on a brief loan spell at SuperSport United.

So far, the Soweto giants have also parted ways with Ntsako Makhubela, Craig Martin, Nkanyiso Zungu, Kopano Thuntsane, and Ndumiso Mabena.

Meanwhile, they have completed four signings in Sephelo Baloni from Cape Town All Stars, Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants, Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy and Patrick Maswanganyi from SuperSport United.
