Leopards coach set his targets for the season
Black Leopards head coach Alejandro Dorado has outlined what his first targets are as he begins the difficult task of coaching the PSL side.
The 38-year-old has taken over as Lidoda Duvha coach on a three-year deal taking over from Owen Da Gama.
The Leopards’ job is also a first for him as a permanent head coach of any club. Dorado, who spent most of his time at Spanish giants Real Madrid as the academy coach, is clear about his mandate.
ALEJANDRO DORADO REVEALS ULTIMATE TARGETS
“Everybody knows that we need to promote the team to the premier division. This is the first goal,” said Dorado.
“But if we want to achieve this goal we need to lay proper foundations. When you are building a house you need to make sure you have a proper foundation. So for me, the ultimate goal is to bring the club back to the premiership.
“We need to start with the foundation in terms of the style of play, the people that will work around the club. These are things that in the next month or so I will put my focus on,” he said.
BLACK LEOPARDS TO BRING IN NEW FACES?
“We will try to get the best players to the team, we will try to bring the players available. It will be a mix of the current players that are there but we will mix,” added Dorado.
Leopards are expected to be back for pre-season officially on Monday, 10 July. The club spent the past two weeks assessing players on trials. Dorado is also expected to complete his paperwork in the coming weeks to be eligible to sit on the bench.
The PSL is yet to release the official fixture schedule ahead of the new season. It is expected that the first division could begin in late August.
