CAS suspends Royal AM transfer ban
The Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] have suspended Royal AM’s transfer ban that was imposed by the world football governing board FIFA.
FIFA had handed Royal AM a transfer ban after they failed to compensate Samir Nurkovic on a set deadline.
Nurkovic had filed a complaint for unfair dismissal through his lawyer Davor Lazic. The ex-Kaizer Chiefs striker had agreed to a two-year deal with an option of a further year with Thwihli Thwahla.
The Serbian international didn’t last long at the club after his contract was terminated in October 2022.
The 30-year-old left KZN without making an appearance, this was mainly due to his long-term injury setback.
In response to the ban, the club, through its lawyer Leruma Thobejanethe, fought back. They took the matter to CAS which ruled in their favour until the final decision is made.
