Three PSL sides to take part in Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup
Three PSL sides are going to take part in a one-day pre-season tournament Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup in KZN.
The cup holders AmaZulu FC are going to return again, seeking to defend the trophy. The other PSL sides that will join Usuthu will be Richards Bay FC and Royal AM.
Meanwhile, the Eswatini giants Mbabane Swallows will be the fourth participating team. The tournament will take place on 29 July at the Ulundi Stadium.
Mbabane Swallows and Royal AM are replacing Mamelodi Sundowns and Zululand Eleven who were part of the competition in the 2022 pre-season.
Last year, Usuthu defeated the Natal Rich Boyz on penalties to lift the cup. This was after the encounter ended 1-1 in regulation time. Bay had downed the then-defending champions Sundowns 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final to book a spot in the final.
Meanwhile, Usuthu also needed penalties to go past Zululand Eleven in the other semi-final.
