TIM SUKAZI ON APHELELE TETO’S MOVE TO LIVINGSTON
Sukazi noted that he is “pleased” to see one of their product joins a UK-based Premier division club.
“We are quite pleased by the interest shown in Aphelele Teto by Livingston FC. It is not so often that a South African youngster signs with a UK-based Premier division club,” said Sukazi.
“Teto caught the eye of Livingston Head Coach, David Martindale, during our preseason training camp in Turkey. This was in December last year when our Club played against Giresunspor.
“As the first South African club to hold a training camp in Europe, the jury had been out as to what would be benefits of such an adventure.”
The club president continued: “I am happy that our country now realizes that such an initiative could give lifetime opportunities to players amongst other things.
“I am quite happy now to see two of our sister clubs in Orlando Pirates and Sundowns following in our footsteps by holding training camps in Europe. This will not only benefit their brands but their players as well.
“I would give credit to our head coach Sead Ramović. He was brave enough to give Aphelele his debut at the highest level two seasons ago. It is not every coach who would risk by playing a youngster while the Club is fighting relegation.”
