Simo Dladla set to join Motsepe Foundation Championship club?
Former Venda Football Academy head coach Simo Dladla looks set to join the Motsepe Foundation Championship club ahead of the 2023/24 season.
He has been unattached for just two months after he was dismissed by Venda Football Academy in April. Initially, he had been put on suspension in February by the Limpopo outfit following a poor run.
He was previously linked with AmaZulu FC assistant coach role before USuthu appointed Siboniso Vilakazi. This publication also gathered that he was considered for the Maritzburg United head coach job.
However, the Team of Choice went on to appoint former AmaTuks head coach Zipho Dlangalala.
SIMO DLADLA SET TO JOIN MARITZBURG UNITED?
FARPost can reveal that Dladla was spotted at Maritzburg United taking charge of training of the certain group of players while the other was being trained by the head coach Dlangalala.
According to a source known to this website, Dladla began taking part in Maritzburg’s training on Tuesday.
By the look of things, he’s likely to be roped in as an assistant coach to Dlangalala. However, it remains to be seen as the pre-season continues.
Dladla was in charge of the now-defunct Real Kings as a head coach from 2016 to 2019. He was then redeployed as the Technical Director when the club appointed Joel Masutha as the gaffer.
The 42-year-old has also worked at the DStv Premiership side Moroka Swallows as an assistant coach to Dylan Kerr. He was sacked along with the head coach in November 2021.
TEAM OF CHOICE AIMING FOR TOP-TIER RETURN
The KZN outfit is gearing up for its first season in the second tier after they were relegated last season. They failed to retain their DStv Premiership status when they fell short in the PSL Promotional Playoffs.
They will be the second team in KZN competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after Milford who bought Uthongathi FC status.
